2020 development trend of plastic products industry
2020 started in a silent war, which is also related to the 2020 development trend of all walks of life. As of January 19, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Treatment of Plastic Pollution", which prohibits the use of Non-degradable disposable plastic products, let’s talk about the 2020 development trend of plastic product manufacturers. According to the plastic restriction order, by the end of 2020, the use of non-degradable plastic bags in shopping malls, supermarkets, pharmacies, bookstores and other places in built-up areas of municipalities, provincial capitals, and cities separately designated in the plan, as well as catering and takeaway services and various exhibition activities, is prohibited. It also regulates and restricts the use of non-degradable plastic bags in the market; by the end of 2020, the catering industry across the country bans the use of non-degradable plastic bags and degradable disposable plastic straws; and prohibits the use of non-degradable disposable plastic tableware in built-up areas and scenic spots above prefecture-level. ; By the end of 2022, star-rated hotels, hotels and other places across the country will no longer actively provide disposable plastic products, and can provide related services by setting up self-purchasing machines and providing continuous filling detergents; before the end of 2022, Beijing, Shanghai, Postal courier outlets in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and other places, and Guangdong and other provinces and cities will prohibit the use of non-degradable plastic packaging bags and disposable plastic woven bags in advance to reduce the use of non-degradable plastic tape. By the end of 2025, the use of non-degradable plastic packaging bags, plastic tape, disposable plastic woven bags, etc., will be prohibited in postal express outlets across the country. Behind the huge number of enterprises is the rising market demand. According to relevant research reports, at present, the consumption of plastic products in many industries is staggering. Take the express delivery industry as an example. In 2018, the express delivery industry consumed more than 50 billion express waybills, about 5.3 billion woven bags, about 24.5 billion plastic bags, about 5.7 billion envelopes, about 14.3 billion boxes, and about 430 tapes. Billion meters. The packaging tape used every year can circle the earth 1077 times. In fact, with the improvement of environmental protection awareness, some leading companies are also actively seeking to reduce the use of non-degradable disposable plastic products. Some media believe that restricting plastic products and actively looking for related substitutes may be the key to solving the problem. Faced with take-out plastic lunch boxes and express packaging products that account for a large proportion of consumption, products made of other materials will face constraints such as resources, costs, and profits. Based on a variety of factors, it is expected that from 2020 to 2025, the demand for paper packaging products will increase substantially. According to statistics, in 2019, the total production capacity of corrugated paper packaging products in my country is about 70 million tons, which is still increasing year by year; however, the consumption level has declined in recent years. After the demand for corrugated box paper peaked in 2017, consumer demand declined for two consecutive years in 2019, dropping to about 47 million tons, a decrease of about 1.5% from 2017. It is believed that in the process of advancing the plastic restriction order, the demand for paper packaging will increase again. According to the current annual use of 4 million tons of plastic bags and outer packaging, taking into account the business related to paperless express mail and the reuse of packaging consumables, it is expected that the plastic products that can be replaced by paper packaging in the future will account for 6% to 10% of the total plastic products. The magnitude is about 7 million tons. The replacement demand for packaging paper is on the verge of coming out, giving plastic products manufacturers a new challenge!
